Today, the House of Representatives unanimously passed H.R. 469, the “Strengthening the Child Welfare Response to Trafficking Act of 2015.” Introduced by Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) and Education and the Workforce Committee Chairman John Kline (R-MN), the legislation will help to connect child victims of trafficking to appropriate services and prevent further exploitation.

Today, the House passed this bill this bill to ensure that child welfare agencies have systems in place to properly identify, assess, and document child victims of trafficking. Domestic child trafficking remains a serious problem in the United States.
