AGOA Today and Beyond: The Future of the US-Africa Commercial Relationship
For the last fifteen years, the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) has served as the cornerstone of the U.S.-Africa commercial relationship. With the Act set to expire on September 30, 2015, many in Congress and across the business and civil society sectors have called for a seamless extension of AGOA. As the 114th Congress convenes, the time is appropriate for the U.S. to renew its approach to Africa’s promising economic landscape and consider the future of this increasingly important economic relationship.
