Today, I voted against the Republican's plan to fun the government for fiscal year 2013 because it doesn't fully address sequestration’s devastating impacts on our economy, the middle-class, seniors and students trying to get a good education. Furthermore, my Republican colleagues know their plan is unlikely to pass the Senate and will only add to the gridlock in Washington. The discretionary spending cuts from sequestration will result in job loss, furloughs and reduced services to our nation’s most vulnerable citizens. Finding a comprehensive solution instead of half measures should be our top priority.
We have a right to know when the madness will end, and when Speaker Boehner will allow a vote on the Democrat’s balanced approach to deficit reduction.
