November 18, 2021
Press Release
WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA) released a new report from the Joint Economic Committee today estimating that $26.7 million in Child Tax Credit monthly tax cuts were sent to families in the 37th Congressional District in October.

Statewide, 4,271,000 payments went to families in October totaling $1.777 billion. The average payment per household was $416. Nationwide, the Joint Economic Committee estimates the Child Tax Credit tax cuts are pumping $19.3 billion into local economies each month, supporting local jobs and businesses.

“This historic tax cut is putting more of hardworking families’ own money back in their pockets so they can pay for childcare or put gas in the car to get work, put food on the table, cover school expenses, spend money at our local businesses and continue to grow our local economy while building better lives for their families,” said Rep. Bass. “I will continue to fight for the families of Los Angeles and Culver City.”
