Rep. Bass, CBC Leaders to Meet with President Trump

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, March 22, Congressmember Karen Bass (D-Calif.) and five members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Executive Board will meet with President Trump at the White House to talk about the issues affecting the African-American community, including proposed budget cuts, the ACA repeal and replace bill, education, criminal justice reform, infrastructure, and economic opportunity for urban and rural communities.

During the meeting, the CBC Members will provide the President with short- and long-term solutions he can act on during his presidency to advance the African-American community in the United States.   
“During the President’s campaign, he asked our community what we have to lose,” Rep. Bass said. “I think the Caucus is looking forward to answering this question and presenting options for the President to explore and hopefully implement.”
Rep. Bass is the Second Vice-Chair for the CBC and will join the CBC Chairman, Congressman Cedric Richmond (D-La.) and the following four members of caucus leadership.

  • Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Wis.), Whip 
  • Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence (D-Mich.), Secretary
