Rep. Bass Condemns Passage of ADA Education and Reform Act

February 15, 2018
Press Release
WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) released the following statement reacting to the passage of H.R. 620, the ADA Education and Reform Act.

“This week, Congress turned back the clock on the civil rights of people with disabilities while setting a dangerous precedent for civil rights enforcement in the future.  House Republicans have taken the first step in imposing significant hurdles for victims of discrimination by rolling back progress laid out in the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 that guaranteed the rights of persons with disabilities, a community that has fought so hard for accessibility and accommodation. This is a truly disappointing outcome.”
