Congresswoman Karen Bass

Representing the 37th District of California

Rep. Bass Hosts More Than 100 For Congressional Conversation In South Los Angeles

May 2, 2018
Press Release
LOS ANGELES – Last night in a packed room of more than 100 constituents, Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) and City Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson together tackled issues ranging from development of a long-vacant local lot and parking accessibility, to concerns about the state of our federal government and its ability to meet the needs of its people. Questions also focused on services for older residents, airplane noise, and the renovation of a local post office.

“In a time when Trump is featured in every headline, it’s important to make sure that the real struggles and issues that local constituents are facing every day are being heard and addressed,” Rep. Bass said. “These forums give me the opportunity to not only report back on what has been happening in Washington, but to also hear about how I can better serve my community. I look forward to taking what was discussed back to Washington with me and continuing to work on the important issues raised here tonight.”

The event was hosted at the 8th Council District’s constituent service center on S. Vermont Ave. You can view photos from the event here and read about upcoming events hosted by the office of Congressmember Karen Bass, here
