Rep. Bass Introduces Resolution Recognizing AU – US Partnership

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressmember Karen Bass (D-Calif.), Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations introduced a resolution to recognize the importance of the partnership between the United States and the African Union (AU), and to reaffirm the mutually beneficial ties of this partnership.

“For more than two decades, there has been strong bipartisan support in the United States for the African Union. The United States and the African Union share common goals for the continent, including regional peace and security; inclusive economic development; strengthening democracy and governance; and expanding trade and investment,” said Rep. Bass. “I hope that my colleagues join me in reaffirming this mutually beneficial partnership between the United States and the African Union, and in promoting greater collaboration with the AU to achieve the goals associated with the socio-economic transformation of the continent over the next 50 years.”
