Congressmember Karen Bass yesterday joined U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Michael Froman for a forum in conjunction with the Brookings Institution and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to discuss the reauthorization of the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act.
Today, the House of Representatives unanimously passed H.R. 469, the “Strengthening the Child Welfare Response to Trafficking Act of 2015.” Introduced by Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) and Education and the Workforce Committee Chairman John Kline (R-MN), the legislation will help to connect child victims of trafficking to appropriate services and prevent further exploitation.
